Camping at Holland State Park

For over 20 years it has been a tradition to camp at Holland State park
with Trisha's aunts and the girls of the family.
The only thing more impressive than camping for 20 years, is camping in that trailer for the 20 years! We make an impression on the people around us.
Good thing for us, antiques are coming back into style.

We had a "busy" couple of weeks picking blueberries, talking, reading books, talking, taking naps, talking, having fires, (and of course talking!) and watching sunsets.
It was intense, but we made it through.

Third Coast Surfing

We've begun a new assignment in West Michigan for the rest of the summer.  That means a lot of things, and one of them is....more surfing.  Peter wanted to learn right away.

Nathan even stood up on a wave.

Daniel choosing the perfect set.

The surf may be small but there are benefits to surfing the great lakes.  No reef to fall on, no salt....and NO SHARKS! (It can also mean 'no waves,' but Sunday actually was fun surfing.)

4th of July in She-Vegas (Sheboygan)

For the 4th of July we were lucky enough to be able to visit Kurt's side of the family.

We were thankful for the beaches and the pool because Wisconsin treated us with record high temperatures while we were there.

Trisha with a couple of our most devoted blog watchers, Katie, Megan,
and Uncle Doug.

Happy 4th!

Pure Michigan

There is nothing better than a weekend at the beaches of Lake Michigan
enjoying the sun and playing in the sand.

Elise and I both started and finished a book.

Although we have traveled a lot of great places in the last couple of years, Michigan in the summer is hard to beat.
