Oh where, oh where should we go now?

We are actively looking for our next assignment! It is hard to believe we have only 3 weeks left before we are leaving Arizona. Our #1 choice for the next assignment is Alaska. #2 choice... any suggestions? We are up for bidders who want us to come live by them!

We have learned a new game called Pickleball. It is a cross between tennis and ping-pong. You should try it out, it is quite fun.

Don't get too into it, Kurt!

The Wave

Words cannot explain how beautiful yet bizarre this place was. One thing is for sure, God is WAY better at building sand castles than we are.

Our view where we ate lunch

Each storm lays another layer of sand onto the formation. The larger ridges indicate a rainy season where the sand compacts more than in the dry season

Our car is a real trooper. It is our bed and our transportation through rushing water. We are pretty sure we should put this in a Mazda commercial.

We're In!

For those of you who don't know, the main reason we came to northern Arizona was to hike to a place called "the Wave."  It is a special sandstone formation that requires a permit to hike to.  Only ten people per day are given a permit.  There is a lottery held every morning.  Yesterday we were up against 40 others and did not get in, today we made it, so we will be hiking tomorrow.  If you wanna learn more about the wave, go here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wave,_Arizona

Toadstools

I wonder what the Navajo's say this rock formation looks like.

This one's a toadstool.

Antelope Slot Canyon

This is the slot that we climbed down into. 11 people died here in 1997 due to a flash flood. So I, Trisha, was not too thrilled that it was so narrow and skinny.

Do you see the Buffalo? The Navajo Indian that led our tour could see it!

Trish thinks she sees a couple of ta ta's (in the above pic).  For once, I don't see it.... do you?
I (Trisha) am just continuing the Navajo tradition of seeing things in the rock. They showed us an eagle, dragon, Indian chief, and a buffalo. I must say one is a little perkier than the other...

Lake Powell and the Horseshoe bend of the Colorado River

We had 5 nights off, so we decided to see northern Arizona. This is The Glen Canyon Dam and Bridge.

It is starting to get hot

This thermometer is on our porch. Today it was only 89 degrees, but in the sun, it is HOT!!! Our blood is not thin enough for this kind of weather.

Donde esta la biblioteca?

We've gone to Mexico.  This is the view on our way through Organ Pipe National Monument in southern Arizona.

We're staying in Puerto Penasco, aka "Rocky Point" which is about an hour south of the border on the Sea of Cortez.  We got sick of the desert so we came to the beach.
